We drove out to Santa Cruz for a good cause this past Fourth of July weekend to hang with Big Pete's Treats and to pickup trash off of the sandy shores of Seabright Beach. Whenever we hear about a cannabis community event for a good cause we do our best to make an appearance and help support the community's efforts. On this particular day it was clear the beach needed our help. We reported to Seabright at 10:30 in the morning on Sunday July 5th where Pete and his crew were already at it.
We could tell a good time was had by those who were at the beach on the night of July 4th by all the junk that was left behind remnants of food and drink, glass and plastic bottles, abandoned clothing and used fireworks buried half way in the sand. Check out a photo of what we found, and then scroll below that to see a before and after image of an area of the beach that the 420 Friendly Illustrations crew cleaned up with pride.
In the end a good time was had by all and Big Pete and family were pleased with the outcome. By the end of the day we cleared something like over 30 lbs. of trash up off the beach. We have to say the beach was left looking sparkling after all our efforts. When everyone was done, Pete fired up the grill and treated us all to burgers and dogs. It was a great day both for the environment and the cannabis community and for mankind in general.
